Welcome to the Words and Music Show
On the 3rd Sunday of each month the Words and Music Show presents poets, storytellers, musicians, performers, dancers and improvisers.
It takes place at one of Montreal’s top alternative music venues, the Casa del Popolo, 4873 St-Laurent, Montreal. Walk past the bar take the left-hand door to the performance space and you’re there.
Our next show is on Sunday June 24th:
On that date the Words and
Music Show does exactly the wrong thing, bringing three fine writers
from Toronto to celebrate St-Jean Baptiste.
How could we do this you ask? Well it's cuz we convinced David Bateman to make one of his rare appearances here.
David is one of the most entertaining, poignant and outrageous spoken
word artists in the country. He's here to perform and to present his new
book 'Tis Pity (Frontenac House 2012).
He'll also be
performing with Ian Ferrier and other special guests in Toronto at the
Secret Handshake Gallery, 189B Mutual on Wednesday June 27th
I'll only say this one more time. Come see David Bateman!!! A disarming
presence, he puts on a show that will charm you AND burn your ears off.
As for the Words and Music Show catch the return of Nathanael
Moore too. Nathanael’s third book is Wrong Bar (Tightrope Books) of
which one reviewer said:
“Few writers can take their own
finger poppin’ rhythm and make it sound exactly like life. Nathaniel G.
Moore’s filthy and pretty little dust devil made me feel slutty and
happy and free. Terrific book.”
